Good Neighbor Settlement House seeks donations

Due to the recent influx of asylum seekers, Good Neighbor Settlement House is seeking support to replenish the provisions handed out to immigrants.

Among the list of requested supplies are the snacks and foodstuffs each migrant is given in a small snack bag on their journey to their temporary haven in the United States, where they will await their asylum hearing.

These include:

>>6 fl oz water bottles

>>CapriSun Juice Boxes

>>Sweet & Salty trail mix

>>Animal Crackers

>>Nature Valley Granola Bars

>>Peanut butter Crackers

>>Nutrigrain Bars

Other items needed are:

>>Hygiene supplies

>>Deodorant

>>Disposable razors

>>Toothbrushes and small travel-sized toothpaste

. Articles of men and women’s clothing, in the following sizes, are also requested:

>>Men’s Pants, Waist Sizes: 29, 30, 32 34, and a few 36

>>T-shirts: Small, Medium and Large

>>Packaged underwear: Small, Medium and Large

>>Belts: Adjustable

>>Women’s pants, Sizes 10 and 12, as well as a few sized 14 – 18

>>Leggings: Small, Medium, and Large

>>T-shirts: Small, Medium, and Large

>>Sports bras: Small, Medium and Large

The administrative staff is also in need of general office supplies including:

>>Brown 9” x 12” Envelopes

>>Double-row tickets

>>Staples

>>Pens

>>Notepads

GNSH is a non-profit, multi-service agency located in downtown Brownsville at 13th and Tyler dedicated to serving the needs of the homeless and low-income community, as well as refugee men, women and children, by providing basic necessities of life encompassing food, clothing, hot meals, after-school tutoring, housing rehabilitation for the handicapped and elderly, agency referrals, and educational programs.
