Minot man sentenced for chase on state Highway 1806
MANDAN, N.D. (AP) — A Minot man has been sentenced to about four months in jail on charges stemming from a chase last fall on state Highway 1806 that involved numerous law enforcement agencies.
Authorities say 34-year-old Matthew Mize fled at speeds up to 90 mph after Mandan police tried to stop him on Nov. 30 for driving a suspicious vehicle.
The chase ultimately also involved officers with the Morton County Sheriff’s Office, state Highway Patrol and federal Bureau of Indian Affairs, before it ended near Prairie Knights Casino.
The Bismarck Tribune reports Mize recently pleaded guilty to seven felony and misdemeanor counts including reckless endangerment, drug possession and driving offenses. He was sentenced to 120 days in jail with credit for time served since his arrest.
