Youngstown State 103, Central State 63

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (AP) _ Reserve Craig Haese scored 19 points, including five 3-pointers, and Youngstown State beat Central State 103-63 Monday night.

Anthony Hunt, who scored 16 for the Penguins, opened the scoring with a 3-pointer, and Youngstown State (4-2) never gave up the lead. The Penguins made 62 percent of their shots, including 11-of-18 from beyond the 3-point arc.

Ortavius Walker and Kacey Greene led Central State (9-7) with 13 points apiece.

Chris Grant made two free throws for the Marauders with 14:34 left in the first half, and that cut the Penguins’ lead to 15-14.

The two teams went the next two minutes without scoring before Hunt broke the drought with a 3-pointer that started the Penguins on a 24-3 run. Youngstown State led 49-32 at halftime. Youngstown State gradually built on that lead in the second half.

Desmond Harrison came off the bench to score 15 for the Penguins.
