Araceli Lopez netted 5 goals and Madison Hamilton potted 3 goals and had 2 assists as the Greater Lowell Tech girls lacrosse team defeated Monty Tech, 15-7, in a non-league game to secure the first state tournament berth in the seven-year history of the program.


GREATER LOWELL 15, MONTY TECH 7 — Julia Crowley scored 2 goals for Greater Lowell (10-8).

Chanda Wallace, Athenna Mao, Kaelynn Tanner, Pinkie Ngin and Madison Maybury chipped in offensively with 1 goal each for the Gryphons.

Julia O’Keefe (5 saves) earned the win in goal.

BROMFIELD 11, GROTON-DUNSTABLE 10 — Bromfield edged Groton-Dunstable in overtime in a Midland-Wachusett League A Division game.

Groton-Dunstable senior captain Julia Stathis scored 4 goals, including the 100th goal of her varsity career, and had 1 assist.

Hannah Wynn netted 3 goals, while Noelle St. Germain (14 saves) had a strong game in goal for G-D (5-8).

OYSTER RIVER 21, ALVIRNE 8 — Senior Dominique Milinazo celebrated Senior Night by scoring all 8 Alvirne goals.

Lara Mallizia made 7 saves in goal.

LOWELL 14, HAVERHILL 1 — Kaleigh Dunham netted 5 goals and had 2 assists while leading Lowell past Haverhill in a Merrimack Valley Conference game.

Hannah McAnespie, Casey Mitchell and Elizabeth Tighe tallied 2 goals and 1 assist each for the Red Raiders.

Lilly Diamantopoulos potted 2 goals.

Caetryn Gilreath scored 1 goal, and Nora Funaro added 1 assist.

Hannah Erickson Olyvia Cassella Molly McAnespie and Maura Gillis were fixtures on Lowell’s defense.

Isabella Marsden (6 saves) had a strong game in goal for Lowell (14-3).


LOWELL 17, HAVERHILL 10 — Junior midfielder Brendan Tighe was an all-around force, netting 7 goals and dishing out 1 assist, as Lowell topped Haverhill in a Merrimack Valley Conference game.

Owen Goulette scored 6 goals and had 2 assists for the Red Raiders.

Kyle Shanahan chipped in with 2 goals and 2 assists, while Aidan Finn added 1 goal and 1 assist.

Nick Mandeville (1 goal), Jack Frediani (2 assists) and Andrew Kotsifas (defense) played well.

Andrew Carrabis made 12 saves.
