A Mood, Movement, Mindfulness workshop, led by Dana Rideout a licensed professional counselor and trained yoga instructor will be held today and Sept. 29 and 30. The workshops will focus on strategies for balancing emotions. Workshops will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Aiken Yoga; 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Club Thrive; and from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Half Moon Yoga. The cost is $30 per workshop. The Aiken Mid-Day Lions will hold a Sip & Savor event from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Trinity on Laurens, 213 Laurens St. The event will feature win and cheese, a variety of hors d’oeuvres and a silent auction. CSRA College Night will be held from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the James Brown Arena, Augusta. College Night annually provides local high school students with a special opportunity to meet recruiters from more than 100 colleges and universities and win scholarships totaling $16,000. FRIDAY

USC Aiken will hold its annual Run for the Roses 5K at 6 p.m. Friday on Newberry Street in downtown Aiken. Registration is $15 before the race and $20 the day of the event. Discounts are available for students. Walkers and runners with strollers are welcome. Race packets can be picked up from noon to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, in the student life center on the campus of USCA, 471 University Parkway. Packets can be picked up at 5:15 p.m. on race day.

A Doggie Double Feature will be shown from 2 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday at the Aiken County Public Library, 314 Chesterfield St. S.W. “Isle of Dogs,” rated PG-13, will be shown at 2 p.m. followed by “The Stray,” rated PG, at 4 p.m.

Oktoberfest will be held from 6 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday at the Hayne and Pendleton Festival area.

The Fermata Club, 841 Whiskey Road, will hold a celebration in honor of its newly repaired and resurfaced courts at 6 p.m. Saturday. A Round Robin mini tournament will be held, and food and beverages will be available from the Fermata Grill.

The Aiken Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America will meet Wednesday, Oct. 3, at Newberry Hall, 117 Newberry St. Social time starts at 6 p.m, followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. The guest speaker will be local author Marti Healy. The event will showcase the Aiken Singers, Belles Cantos, Bellini and South Boundary. Admission is free and a reception will follow the performance in the church’s fellowship hall.
