Somerset man charged with pulling gun on minors
A 48-year-old Somerset Borough man has been charged with pulling a handgun on three people, including two minors.
State police charged Danny Merringer, North Center Avenue, with the crime, which allegedly took place Saturday afternoon.
According to a probable-cause affidavit, at about 12:15 p.m. Merringer went to a residence along Henry Black Road in Stonycreek Township and began an argument, which turned physical.
It was reported that at one point Merringer grabbed a woman and hit her head on a wall. He then pulled a pistol from his pants and pointed it at the victims, who included an 8-year-old and a 15-year-old, according to the affidavit. Merringer then put the gun away, spoke and left the residence, according to the affidavit.
Merringer has been charged with felony recklessly endangering another person, terroristic threats, endangering the welfare of children, simple assault and two summary offenses.
He was arraigned by on-call District Judge Bill Seger, of Windber, and was in the Somerset County Jail in lieu of a $50,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday before District Judge Susan Mankamyer in Boswell.
An online court document did not list an attorney for Merringer Thursday evening.
