Ironton aLive announces open mic
IRONTON — Ironton aLive Executive Director Sam Heighton has announced a new series of free, community and family-friendly recreational events called “FreeFest Connect aLive,” scheduled throughout the months of February, March and April, and sponsored through a community collaboration grant awarded to Impact Prevention agency.
Ironton aLive and Impact Prevention are planning the following events to increase community connectedness and provide opportunities for families to enjoy events that foster free, fun and educational activities.
Friday Night Open Mic will be from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. every Friday at the Iron Town Coffee Lab, 225 S. 2nd St., Ironton.
Every Friday Night Open Mic will feature family-friendly fun from attendees, singers, storytellers, songwriters, instrumentalists, and more with poetry readings, historical monologues, educational and science demonstrations, characters in costume and so much more.
Free coffee, milk and cookies will be offered to all in attendance. There will also be door prize raffles of vouchers for other FreeFest activities. Some participants will earn a Golden Ticket to perform on stage at the Ro-Na Theater in April.
“Share your talents with your community and get the applause you deserve,” Heighton said in a news release.
