Ohio deadline to register to vote in November election fast approaching

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohioans have until Tuesday to register to vote to participate in the Nov. 6 midterm election.

People can register online or by mail either by printing a form at home or picking up a form in a government office, according to the Ohio Secretary of State’s office, which oversees elections. Ohio voters can update their addresses through either option as well. 

Online: Visit https://olvr.sos.state.oh.us/. Enter your Ohio driver’s license or identification card number, name, birth date, address and the last four digits of your Social Security number.At home: People who prefer paper or who do not have all the required information to register online can print out a form here. Send the form to your county board of elections. The address can be found here.At a government office: Numerous government buildings have available voter registration forms, including public libraries, public high schools or vocational schools, the Ohio Secretary of State’s office, the office of any of the 88 county boards of elections, county treasurers’ offices, the registrar or deputy registrar of the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles. The complete list is here. Deliver the completed form to a county election board or mail it. 

People must register or update their voter registrations no later than 30 days before the election -- Oct. 9 for the Nov. 6 election.

If you register or update your information after the deadline, the change will apply to the next election.
