School board to meet tomorrow
NEEDLES — The January meeting of the Needles Unified School District Board of Trustees has been moved from its customary Tuesday night to Wednesday, Jan. 16.
Executive session begins at 5 p.m. PST, public session at 6 p.m. in the district support office at 1900 Erin Dr. The agenda includes:
• The district’s controversial developer impact fees are to be discussed, and possibly acted upon.
• Negotiations for sale of the former Grace Henderson Elementary School site to the Fort Mojave Indian Tribe are to be conducted in executive session, then appear later in public session for approval of next steps to be taken.
Cross country, football and volleyball programs at Needles High School, cross country and football at Needles Middle School are to receive recognition.
Mary McNeil Ph.D., district superintendent, is to give updates on student safety, the Big River School project and the district’s request for a grant for facilities for day-long kindergarten programs.
