1 killed, 3 hurt in Braintree crash
BRAINTREE, Mass. (AP) — Police say one person was killed and three others injured in a four-car crash in Braintree.
The crash occurred just after 7 p.m. Sunday on Route 53.
No names were released.
Fire Capt. Jim O’Toole tells The Patriot Ledger (http://bit.ly/1JyLIPt) that the victim appeared to be in his mid-20s and was driving a compact car. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Three other people, all adults, were taken to hospitals with minor injuries. One was trapped and had to be freed by firefighters using hydraulic rescue tools.
The road was shut down for about four hours.
