ASHLEY — A man wanted on bench warrants in two cases was captured after police used a Taser to subdue him, according to police. Police said they saw Jeffrey W. Arnott Jr., 31, emerge from behind the Family Dollar at 43 S. Main St. with his pants down around 10 p.m. Saturday. Officers knew Arnott was wanted for failing to appear in court on resisting arrest and disorderly conduct charges and approached him to make the arrest, police said. Arnott then ran into a wooded area near the former Ashley Rail Yard and ignored orders for him to stop, according to police. At one point, Arnott began running toward officers, and police used a Taser to stop him. Arnott was then taken into custody without further incident and lodged at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility, police said. — JAMES HALPIN
