Local Product Leads Galaxy to 37-3 WLAF Rout
FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) _ Ingo Seibert rushed for two touchdowns and Steve Pelluer threw for another Saturday to help the Frankfurt Galaxy rout the London Monarchs 37-3 in its home opener in World League of American Football.
Seibert, a German and one of seven non-American players WLAF teams are required to carry, finished off drives engineered by Pelluer, a former quarterback with the Dallas Cowboys, by running for scores of 1 and 3 yards.
The Galaxy improved to 2-0 and extended its winning streak to six games dating back to last season. London fell to 0-2.
Frankfurt head coach Ernie Stautner celebrated his 71st birthday by being serenaded with ``Happy Birthday″ by the crowd of 32,000.
Seibert’s score, a 6-yard TD pass by Pelluer, and a 5-yard run by Wes Bender gave Frankfurt a 21-0 lead before former Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas kicker Roger Ruzek converted a 39-yard field goal attempt just before halftime for London’s only points.
