Job-related workshops set at Jefferson center
JEFFERSON -- The Workforce Development Center in Jefferson is hosting free workshops this week:
-- Wednesday, 9-11 a.m.: OI Closet, which offers gently used professional and leisure clothing and accessories for individuals within the community, will be on site. This service is provided and maintained by Opportunities Inc. Attendees can speak one-on-one with a representative to find out how to get outfitted for their upcoming job interview.
From 1:30-3:30 p.m., a job interviewing workshop will demonstrate that a prepared candidate should know about the job’s industry, employer, oneself and how to impress the employer during the interview.
-- Thursday, 1-3 p.m.: A LinkedIn workshop will provide an overview of how to build one’s professional brand using LinkedIn.
From 1:30-4:30 p.m., mock interviews will be held. Participants sign up for a 30-minute scheduled interview session and receive feedback from area employers on interview techniques.
