Husker Football Player Hit in Face
LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) _ Nebraska tight end Aaron Golliday was hit in the face with a beer bottle in a parking lot last weekend, police said.
He cut his lip and lost a tooth. Police had not yet located the attacker.
Golliday and two friends were in the drive-thru lane of a Mexican restaurant early Saturday when the car ahead of them backed up and the driver in Golliday’s car honked the horn, Police Capt. David Beggs said.
After Golliday and his friends picked up their food, the other car followed them and forced their car into a parking lot, Beggs said.
Golliday is 6-foot-4 and 275 pounds. When he got out of the car, the other driver _ a 5-10, 175-pound male in his 20s _ hit him in the face with the bottle, Beggs said.
In another legal matter, the trial of Nebraska football player Thunder Collins was delayed until Aug. 6. He is charged with assaulting his girlfriend was delayed until Aug. 6. Collins, who has pleaded innocent, appeared in court Tuesday.
