Breeding dogs for research is cruel -- Renee Moen
I was disappointed to see the Mount Horeb referendum about animal research fail. It would at least have made a statement about Ridglan Farms. The fact that anyone is allowed to breed and sell 3,000 beagles every year to research labs is beyond troubling.
I don’t advocate using animals for research. But even rounding up rabbits, squirrels and chipmunks would be a step up from breeding domestic animals for this purpose.
It’s a sad commentary on our society.
