Trump wants ICE to have ‘more dogs’ at the border

March 15, 2019

President Trump said Friday that he wants to provide Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents with “more dogs” to help them guard the southern border.

As he vetoed a resolution disapproving of his emergency declaration at the border, Mr. Trump also praised ICE personnel who “take such abuse” but do good work.

The president said he wants to provide them with more equipment, including “more dogs,” and apparent reference to drug-sniffing canines.

“There’s nothing that replaces a good dog,” Mr. Trump said.
