Official: Philadelphia student stabbed with scissors
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A Philadelphia school official says a student was stabbed by another student with a pair of scissors.
Philadelphia School District spokesman Lee Whack told Philly.com that the stabbing happened about 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Lincoln High School. Whack says two female students were involved in an argument when one of them grabbed a pair of scissors and lunged at the other.
It was unclear what started the argument.
Whack says the injured student had a “surface wound” under her eye that was treated by the school nurse. The student was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
He says the school is cooperating with police in an investigation and disciplinary actions will be taken once that investigation is complete.
