Tractor-trailer driver killed in crash publicly identified
GROTON, Conn. (AP) — Police have released the name of the tractor-trailer driver killed in a crash on Interstate 95 in Connecticut.
Authorities say 41-year-old Mayro Estrada, of Providence, Rhode Island, died Tuesday morning when the tractor-trailer he was driving went off the side of the highway and down an embankment.
Police say the crash happened around 5 a.m. in Groton.
Estrada was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say he was not wearing a seat belt.
The crash closed a nearby road for several hours, and officials were called to the scene to repair a guardrail and nearby power lines.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
