Tractor trailer unit tears down powerlines, rolls onto side
WAKEFIELD, N.H. (AP) — New Hampshire state police say a tractor trailer driver failed to lower the dump body on the vehicle, causing the vehicle to tear down some powerlines and roll onto its side.
Police said the vehicle rolled over on Route 16 in Wakefield on Monday morning.
They said the driver had raised the dump body earlier to drain water that had accumulated from storms over the weekend. It was dark when he returned to the vehicle, and he didn’t notice the dump body was still up. When he attempted to pull onto Route 16, the dump body struck the powerlines.
Police identified the driver as 57-yeasr-old William Badolato, of Ossipee. He suffered minor injuries and was issued a summons for negligent driving and exceeding maximum height.
