A gathering of remembrance for David J. “Dave” Anderson, 78, Kingsport, Tenn., formerly of Norfolk, will be at a later date under the direction of Oak Hill Funeral and Cremation Services.
David J. “Dave” Anderson went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Dec. 28, 2018, at Holston Valley Medical Center in Tennessee.
He was born in Schuyler on July 13, 1940, and had lived in Kingsport for the past eight years.
Mr. Anderson received his bachelor’s in music education from Wayne State College in Wayne. He was choir director at Norfolk High School from 1969 until 1984. He retired from Holdrege High School in Holdrege as vocal music instructor and retired as an interpreter for the U.S. Forest Service after 20 years of service.
Dave enjoyed woodworking, singing with his spouse, Jean, and taking pictures of flowers in the Rocky Mountains.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Iral and Jean Anderson.
Surviving are his loving spouse of 54 years, Jean Anderson; his daughters, Maria Anderson and Christina Newman and spouse Jeff; a sister, Linda DiMauro; a brother-in-law, Charles Mulhair and spouse Karol; three grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; four nieces; and many friends and loved ones.
