Rep. Reese named caucus secretary

November 15, 2018

State Rep. Mike Reese, R-Mount Pleasant, has been named secretary of the Pennsylvania House Republican Caucus.

Reese represents the 59th Legislative District, which includes Boswell and Jennerstown boroughs, Conemaugh and Jenner townships, and several Westmoreland County municipalities. He was first elected to the House in 2008. He was re-elected last week.

The 110 members of the incoming Republican Caucus once again elected Rep. Mike Turzai, R-Allegheny County, as speaker of the House and chose Rep. Bryan Cutler, R-Lancaster County, as the new majority leader for the 2019-20 legislative session.

The election Tuesday came seven days after Republicans retained control of the House for a fifth consecutive term. Republicans hold a 110-93 majority in the chamber.
