Fla. Amber Alert Seeks Boy, 11
DUNNELLON, Fla. (AP) _ An Amber Alert was issued Wednesday for an 11-year-old boy who may have been abducted by a known sex offender, authorities said.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement and sheriff’s deputies were searching for Adam Kirkirt, last seen Tuesday in Dunnellon, about 75 miles northwest of Orlando.
Adam may be with a man identified as Frederick Fretz, who had picked the boy up at his elementary school, the Marion County’s sheriff’s office said.
Fretz, 42, a known sex offender in Arizona and Pennsylvania, has been a roommate of Adam’s father, Ivert Kirkirt, who met Fretz in jail in September or October, the sheriff’s office said.
Adam moved into his father’s Ocala apartment in December and Fretz often took the boy to and from school, officials said.
