Portales man accused of shooting at bank worker outside home

July 14, 2018

PORTALES, N.M. (AP) — A 29-year-old Portales man is accused of shooting at a bank worker who had taken photos of the man’s property to verify occupancy.

The Eastern New Mexico News reports that Tanner Kube was arrested on suspicion of felony shooting at or from a motor vehicle on July 5.

A deputy reported that the worker told deputies that he “heard loud bangs” after getting into his truck and then noticed a person holding a rifle and yelling at him.

The deputy reported that the worker noticed when he stopped his truck some distance away to call police that a bullet had struck his truck.

Online court records don’t list a defense attorney who could comment on behalf of Kube regarding the allegations.
