Auto collision keeps senior golf our of Tradition
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) _ Senior PGA competitor Calvin Peete withdrew from the first round of the Tradition on Thursday after he was involved in a minor collision.
Peete, 53, told tournament officials he wasn’t injured, but doctors at Scottsdale Memorial Hospital-North advised him to withdraw because of the risk of whiplash.
Pepper Peete, the golfer’s wife, stopped for a red light when another northbound vehicle skidded on the rain-moistened roadway and rear-ended the Peete car.
Peete was a passenger in the rear seat.
