Roads reopen following Marshall Pond overflow

April 6, 2019

Forestville Road was closed for about an hour Friday night in Wake Forest after Marshall Pond began overflowing.

Town officials said that Forestville Road was closed between Song Sparrow Drive and Foundation Drive after the three-acre pond began overflowing its retaining wall.

An engineer with the Department of Transportation inspected the wall late Friday night and Forestville Road reopened at about 9:30 p.m.

No homes were evacuated as a result of the flooding, authorities said.
