Stamford motorcyclist killed in crash
STAMFORD - A 26-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a crash on Tresser Boulevard, near Canal Street Sunday night.
Sgt. Andrew Gallagher said the male victim, who was not identified, was a Stamford resident. The motorcycle operator was not wearing a helmet.
“A 2012 Jeep Wrangler was traveling westbound on Tresser Boulevard intending to turn left onto Canal Street southbound. A 2004 Yamaha YZ600 motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Tresser intending to cross the intersection. The motorcycle crashed into the turning Jeep,” Gallaghter said in a release.
“The driver of the Jeep, an 18 year old male Norwalk resident stayed at the scene of the crash and is cooperating with the investigation.”
The motorcyclist sustained severe injuries in the crash, reported at 7:01 p.m. He was transported to Stamford Hospital where he died of injuries he sustained in the crash.
The motorcycle operator was not wearing a helmet.
