LHNE Basketball splits home doubleheader with Riverside
The Lutheran High Northeast basketball teams split a doubleheader with Riverside last night at the Clayton & Vivian Andrews Activities Center.
The Omaha World Herald sixth ranked in Class ‘C-2’ Eagle boys suffered their first loss of the year after a 49-47 loss to the third ranked in Class ‘D-2’ Chargers. Ben Gebhardt had 16 points and eight rebounds and teammate Jaxson Kant added 16 points and seven boards in the loss for LHNE. Teammate Brady Jackson scored eleven points. Riverside’s Joe Bloom had 23 points, eight rebounds, and two blocked shots. The 6-0 Chargers led 28-25 at halftime. Lutheran High Northeast drops to 6-1. The Lady Eagles routed Riverside in their game 62-36 to snap a five game losing streak. Chloe Spence led four players in double figures for LHNE with 13 points and six assists. Mia Furst had a double-double with ten points and ten rebounds. Lutheran High Northeast led at halftime 30-12. They improve to 2-5 while the Lady Chargers fall to 0-6.
