An evening of thanks at Friday Night Live
First responders celebrated at FNL
Thousands of people joined together in downtown Ludington on Friday evening to say thank you to the men and women who serve as law enforcement officers, firefighters and emergency responders during the annual Blessing of the Badges.
The ceremony was held during the fourth and final Friday Night Live event of the summer.
The crowd clapped as the group of emergency personnel, dressed in uniform, marched along Ludington Avenue to the sound of the bagpipes and the Honor Guard, which led the parade to the corner of Ludington Avenue and James Street.
Vic Burwell was the keynote speaker at the annual event, and he commended the gathered first responders for their service.
He told the roughly 40 men and women standing at attention that he is eternally thankful for the responders’ pledge to provide a safe and secure environment for all of the residents and visitors of the area.
