Springfield police arrest 3 in fatal shooting
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) — Three Springfield men have been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a Chicago-area man.
The (Springfield) State Journal-Register reports (http://bit.ly/13oaled ) Springfield police announced the arrests Thursday.
They say the men are accused of being involved in the shooting death of 34-year-old Charles Hunter of Bellwood. Authorities say Bellwood was shot in the back during a disturbance around 2 a.m. Friday.
Twenty-year-old Jeramy S. Jones and 19-year-old Trevonte D. Jackson, both of Springfield, are charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.
Raymond Wallace, age 28, of Springfield is charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon by a felon.
It was unclear Thursday whether the men have defense attorneys.
