March 26, 2019

A 51-year-old woman died Monday evening after rolling her car along U.S. 36 in northwest Lyons, according to the Colorado State Patrol.

Trooper Josh Lewis said the accident occurred at about 7:30 p.m. at mile marker 16, near the now-shuttered Shelly’s Cottages property. He added that crews were still investigating the nature of the accident and whether speed or alcohol were a factor.

The car was a 1999 Fort pickup truck, he said. No other injuries were reported.

As of 10 p.m., the state patrol was still on site and conducting traffic control measures near the crash.
