SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) _ Bobby Phillips tallied 20 points as Western Carolina held off a Wofford rally and pulled away for a 71-51 win on Thursday.

Trailing 47-29 with 12:40 to go, Wofford went on a 20-9 run to pull within seven. Alfred Forbes had 10 of his season-high 16 points in the spurt.

Western Carolina (7-5) then closed the game with a 15-2 run, with its last 10 points coming from the free throw line.

For the game, the Catamounts hit 24 of 31 free throws and held Wofford (3-8) to 25 percent shooting from the field.
