Vehicle catches fire in accident on Industrial Blvd.
A vehicle reportedly caught fire Friday evening after it was allegedly struck by another vehicle in the area of Industrial Boulevard and Bahama Avenue.
According to Lake Havasu City Police Department Lt. Craig Stefick, a preliminary investigation revealed that a Nissan Stanza was traveling eastbound on Industrial Blvd. a little after 7 p.m. when it was allegedly struck near Bahama Ave. by a Toyota Camry. The Toyota was traveling southbound on Bahama Ave. when it allegedly failed to yield at a right of way on Industrial Blvd., he said.
“(The Nissan) ended up catching fire so officers deployed fire extinguishers and put out the fire,” said Stefick. He added that no one was injured by the fire, including the vehicle’s lone female occupant who, upon officers’ arrival, was laying on the side of the road, he said.
Ultimately, the Nissan’s driver declined to be transported to the hospital while all three passengers of the Toyota were transported to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries, according to Stefick.
The names and ages of the people involved were not provided.
