Man shoots, kills himself at Baraboo bar
A Baraboo man used a rifle to commit suicide Tuesday afternoon at a downtown tavern.
According to Baraboo police, officers were dispatched at 5:37 p.m. to Poor Richard’s Saloon in the 400 block of Oak Street for a report of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. They arrived to find a 58-year-old man dead in the bar. Witnesses said he had displayed a hunting rifle before he pointed it at himself and pulled the trigger.
No one else was injured in the shooting. An investigation is ongoing, and the victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of his family.
