hockey Ridgefield’s Chad Krys signs with Blackhawks
Chad Krys of Ridgefield has signed an NHL entry-level contract with the Chicago Blackhawks, the team announced Monday.
The defenseman was the Blackhawks’ second-round draft pick in 2016. He played three seasons at Boston University. Krys signed a three-year contract, standard for players his age (he turns 21 on April 10), which begins next season.
The Blackhawks said Krys will join the Rockford (Ill.) IceHogs, their AHL affiliate, for the rest of this season.
