One of Boca’o specialties is the Tortilla Española, a humble but classic staple that has long been considered one of Spain’s national culinary treasures: a perfect marriage between potatoes slowly fried in olive oil, caramelized onions, and eggs. The Boca’o menu also includes a selection of the most popular tapas in Spain, like Croquetas (serrano ham and bechamel fritters), Montaditos (slices of toasted bread with toppings), and a selection of Spanish sandwiches. There will also be vegetarian options that are Spanish favourites such as Gazpacho and our fresh-made House Salad. Retail gourmet “Denominación de Origen” products from Spain such as Jamon Serrano (serrano ham), will also be available to purchase.

Arturo de Miguel, Co-owner of Boca’o, states, “We want to become the ambassadors of Spanish culture and cuisine in Canada.”

Spaniards are estimated to have an average lifespan of 85.8 years by 2040 and the Mediterranean diet may be one factor why they are set to outpace Japan as the country with the longest life expectancy.

Vancouver is the first major Canadian city to ban plastic straws, foam take-out containers and cups by June 2019. Boca’o offers eco-friendly food packaging that is compostable and recyclable and is in the process of compensating greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to become carbon neutral.
