Alvin ISD trustees win re-election handily

The two Alvin ISD trustees on the May 4 ballot easily won re-election.

In unofficial results, Position 5 trustee Nicole Tonini won a third term in her defeat of Armetta “Twins Mom” Murray.

With a 66.14 percent margin of victory, Tonini, who is board president, received 1,422 votes compared with 728 for Murray.

Position 4 trustee Tiffany Wennerstrom, a former teacher, also won a third term by defeating Paul Needham, gaining 1,361 votes — or almost 64 percent — to Needham’s 772.

The election drew participation from 3.54 percent of the district’s 65,554 voters, according to Brazoria County’s elections website.

Terms are three years, and there are no term limits.
