ELKO, Nev. (AP) — The family of an Elko man who was bludgeoned to death in his home three years ago is offering a $10,000 reward in a new effort to capture his killer.

Police say 31-year-old Richard Lawson Jr. appeared to have died from repeated blows to the head with a solid object before a roommate called authorities in July 2014.

Investigators told the Elko Daily Free Press (http://tinyurl.com/y8ajccb7) at the time no weapon was recovered but that it did not appear to be a random act of violence.

A half-dozen people were living in the home in an area known for drug activity but no one claimed to have heard anything.

His family said in offering the reward that Lawson was a hardworking man with two jobs and a 6-year-old daughter.

Anyone with information should contact Elko Police at 775-777-7324 (pnielson@elkocitynv.gov).
