Bail Bondsman’s Body Found Mutilated
SOUTH HAVEN, Mich. (AP) _ Authorities have identified the body of a man who had been severely beaten, run over with a car and then set on fire before he died.
The victim was identified as Booker T. Hodges, 56, a South Haven tailor and bail bondsman, said state police Sgt. Dana Averill. The body was found by a motorist Saturday on a rural road near Galesburg.
Hodges had been reported missing by a relative Sunday evening. He was last seen Friday evening in a Benton Harbor bar, Averill said.
His car was found Monday at an Interstate 196 rest stop. Police said Hodges’ ears were found inside the vehicle.
An autopsy showed Hodges died of a skull fracture. Averill said it appears Hodges had been badly beaten, run over with a motor vehicle and then set on fire before he died.
