HOUSTON (AP) _ The Houston Astros acquired infielder Mark Loretta from the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday for cash and two players to be named.

Loretta, 31, has spent his eight-year major league career with the Brewers. He was hitting .267 with two home runs and 19 RBIs in 86 games this season. Loretta, the NL's alternate player representative to the union, has a .289 career average.

The Astros also purchased the contract of Jeriome Robertson from Triple-A New Orleans. Robertson will start Monday's game at Texas. He was the Pacific Coast League pitcher of the year this season with a 12-8 record and 2.55 ERA.
