Idaho State Alumni Women’s Basketball Game

October 4, 2018

As former players and teammates for Idaho State Women’s Basketball team in the 1980’s, we wanted to say thank you to everyone involved in the alumni game this past Friday. This was an experience that we will never forget. We were honored and humbled to have been a part of this fantastic event that saw roughly sixty former players and coaches return to Reed Gym. Many of us came from Idaho to participate but others came from all over the United States, as well as the world, for a chance to proverbially “lace them up one more time!”

We recognize that hours of behind the scene efforts were dedicated to locate and contact former players and coaches. Arrangements were made to have Adidas provide each one of us with a pair of shorts and a shirt. Collective media efforts shared this event and hundreds of fans showed up to support, watch, encourage and cheer us on during this high scoring affair (well, it was high scoring in our minds at least). To everyone who turned out to support us, please know that we truly appreciated having you there. It was so much fun to play in front of so many fans.

Mostly, though, we wanted to thank Coach Seton Sobolewski and his staff for their efforts in making this game such a special event. This was a time consuming endeavor and we want you to know that we are so appreciative of all that you did for us. We were blessed to have had this wonderful opportunity. We loved our time as members of the Idaho State Women’s basketball team! And as the saying goes, ‘once a Bengal, always a Bengal.’
