Many local organizations offering free Thanksgiving meals next week

Many Spokane organizations will be providing Thanksgiving meals over the holiday. Below is a list of five hosting free meals next week. .

The City Gate

Where: 170 S. Madison St.

What: A community dinner will be served on Wednesday, Nov. 21 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Reservations or pre-registration is not required.

Mid-City Concerns

Where: 1222 W. 2nd Ave.

What: A Thanksgiving dinner will be served on Nov. 22 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for seniors and those in need only, according to the organization.

Salvation Army

Where: 222 E. Indiana Ave.

What: Thanksgiving turkey dinner will be offered to families on Nov. 22 beginning at 5 p.m. in the Salvation Army multipurpose room.

Union Gospel Mission

Where: 334 W Spokane Falls Blvd.

What: A community dinner will be served on Nov. 21 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Spokane Convention Center. The entrance is through doors in the breezeway between the INB Performing Arts Center and the convention center.

Greater Spokane County Meals on Wheels

Where: The organization will be serving a turkey dinner meal at all 12 Silver Cafes on Nov. 21 at 11 a.m., with the exception of the Silver Cafe at Hillyard Senior Center, which begins lunch at 11:45 a.m.

What: Meals on Wheels will be delivering Thanksgiving dinners with turkey and potatoes on Nov. 22 to residents signed up for the home delivery service. Residents wishing to be included in the meal delivery service are encouraged to call the organization at: 509-926-6976.
