MAN WHO JUMPED ON STAGE AT TAYLOR SWIFT CONCERT NOW ARRESTED FOR MURDER

SAN DIEGO (AP) — A man who sneaked into Taylor Swift’s concert three years ago and jumped on stage has now been arrested on suspicion of beating a man to death. Police say 29-year-old Christian Ewing was arrested for a parole violation a few days ago, then re-arrested Monday on suspicion of murder. Authorities say he beat a 57-year-old man on Dec. 5. The man died three days later. Ewing grabbed headlines in 2015 for getting on stage with Swift at her San Diego show. One of the security guards who tackled him suffered a broken rib. Ewing pleaded guilty to assault and got two years’ probation.

ROD STEWART’S CHRISTMAS GUITAR STARTED HIS MUSIC CAREER

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Rod Stewart’s decades-long career in music all started on Christmas Day as a kid. Stewart says his dad got him a guitar for Christmas one year. It was a completely unexpected gift, because Stewart says he had no ambition to be a musician. He started strumming and the rest is history. Stewart says like many musicians who grew up in the 1950s and ’60s, he “just stumbled into it.”

FRANKENMUTH NATIVES GRETA VAN FLEET STILL ADORE CHRISTMAS

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — You’d think growing up in a town where Christmas is celebrated year-round would make Greta Van Fleet bitter about the whole holiday. On the contrary, according to bassist Sam Kiszka (KIS’-kah), who says he loves Christmas. The band grew up in Frankenmuth (FRANK’-en-mooth), Michigan. Kiszka says Frankenmuth is “a wonderfully strange place” and they did not even realize it growing up. He’s so into holiday music that he set a rule for himself not to listen until after Halloween. He loves snow and sweaters and hot chocolate and fireplaces, and he says, “If that’s not Midwestern, then I don’t know what is.”

LINDSEY STIRLING’S 18-MONTH HOLIDAY SEASON

NEW YORK (AP) — If you think the holiday season goes too long, consider Lindsey Stirling. She has been celebrating Christmas for the past year and a half. Stirling has been working on her holiday album “Warmer in the Winter” for that long, and even when she finished it, she was making videos for it. She shot the video for “Warmer in the Winter” in June. Stirling says she watched Christmas movies to get into the spirit. She even wore Christmas sweaters to the studio to trick herself into feeling like it was the holidays, then she’d be sweating as she left.
