Street closures set as of next Monday
Two streets in Norfolk are set to be closed as of Monday, Aug. 6.
First Street from Monroe Avenue to Andy’s Lake road will be closed because of utility work in the area.
It will temporarily affect the intersection of First Street and Monroe Avenue, although the city transfer station will be accessible from the east. The intersection will reopen Tuesday, Aug. 7.
Prospect Avenue from 25th Street to Williams Street will be closed as of Monday, Aug. 6, at 6 a.m. because of the relocation of a building. Access through the area will be permitted only for residents of the area.
As part of the work, 25th Street also will be closed intermittently.
The building, located beside the city water tower, is being moved to a new location across the street at the site of the city’s future communications tower.
