Smithfield Foods announces expansion at Grayson facility

GRAYSON, Ky. — Smithfield Foods Inc. announced a $1.2 million expansion at its Grayson, Kentucky, facility, which will increase production capacity by 20 percent.

In a new release announcing the expansion, Smithfield said it is hiring 40 full-time positions. Available positions include general production, maintenance and engineering trainee.

The Grayson facility produces Smithfield-brand spiral sliced hams.

The Grayson facility currently employs more than 570 residents from Kentucky, Ohio and West Virginia and is located along Interstate 64.
