DA: No Foul Play Suspected in Death of Man Whose Body Was Found in Leominster Last Friday
LEOMINSTER -- It appears that the death of an unidentified man, whose body was found behind a Lancaster Street supermarket last week, was not a result of foul play, according to a spokesman for Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr.
“At this point, the death does not appear suspicious,” said Tim Connolly, the DA’s spokesman.
Connolly was unable to say what the cause of death was, or provide an identity for the deceased, but did confirm Tuesday it was a man who was discovered.
Police responded at about 11 a.m. Friday morning to a wooded area behind the Lancaster Street Hannaford supermarket where the body was found.
Though law enforcement officials did initially acknowledge that an investigation into the death was ongoing, they were unable to confirm on Friday if the man’s death was suspicious.
As of Tuesday, Connolly said the investigation is still ongoing.
