Author to share World War II love story
IRONTON — Author Ray O’Conor will be the keynote speaker at three Veterans Day related events in Ironton on Thursday, Nov. 8.
O’Conor will start his day at Ironton High School, followed by the Veterans Tribute Ceremony at Ohio University Southern at noon. O’Conor will also have a book-signing event from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Consigned Books, 221 S. Third Street, Ironton. O’Conor is the author of a new book, “She Called Him Raymond.” about WWII romance between a poor girl from Hell’s Kitchen and a heroic B-17 pilot from Ironton.
At 7 p.m., O’Conor will give a presentation and share the compelling story behind the story. All of the proceeds from his book sales at Consigned Books will be donated to Harvest for the Hungry. Go online at www.shecalledhimraymond.com for more information.
