Christmas tree farm faces flooding, closed this weekend
HAMPTON FALLS, N.H. (AP) — A family-owned Christmas tree farm in New Hampshire is closing this weekend due to record flooding.
WMUR-TV reports Jessie Tonry of the Tonry Christmas tree farm in Hampton Falls says it’s the first time they’ve had to close in the farm’s 54 years.
The family said hundreds of customers typically visit the farm to cut their own tree this time of year.
The farm has seen 25 inches of rain this fall, including 10 in November alone. The family said the majority of its parking lots and roadways are under water.
The farm plans to reopen Dec. 6.
