The Emmys® Take Viewers Behind the Scenes for Exclusive Access to All the Stars on Television’s Biggest Night

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sep 13, 2019--

The Television Academy today announced extensive “insider’s access” to the 71 st Emmy ® Awards telecast on Sunday, Sept. 22, delivered via comprehensive pre- and post-show streaming programs from PEOPLE, ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY and IMDb, in addition to the exclusive, “behind-the-scenes” coverage of Backstage LIVE!, the Television Academy’s companion program on Emmy night, streaming a first look at award winners on Emmys.com, Fox.com and live on the Television Academy’s Facebook Page at Facebook.com/TelevisionAcad.

Digital programming begins at 6 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT with PEOPLE & ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY Red Carpet Live: Emmys 2019. The official red carpet pre-show will livestream on PeopleTV, the streaming network from PEOPLE and Entertainment Weekly. It will also be available to stream on PEOPLE.com and EW.com, in addition to social platforms Facebook (PEOPLE, EW, PeopleTV), Twitter (PEOPLE, EW, PeopleTV) and YouTube (PEOPLE, EW). The two-hour show will wrap immediately before the ceremony begins at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.

JD Heyman (editor-in-chief, Entertainment Weekly), along with PeopleTV hosts Jeremy Parsons ( PEOPLE Now ), Lola Ogunnaike ( Couch Surfing ) and Andrea Boehlke ( PEOPLE Now ), will host the pre-show from multiple locations on the red carpet.

Backstage LIVE! viewers on Emmys.com, Fox.com and Facebook Live will have exclusive access to key backstage locations via multiple cameras including:

All Backstage LIVE! content will be available for immediate replay-and-repeat viewing following the program on Emmys.com and live on the Television Academy’s Facebook page at Facebook.com/TelevisionAcad. The Television Academy’s website showcases the organization’s activities and content including exclusive photos and videos from the Emmys, original videos “My Emmy Moment” and “Fashion Flashback,” and original content from Television Academy membership events throughout the year.

For the fourth year in a row, the Television Academy has joined forces with IMDb, the world’s most popular and authoritative source for movie, TV and celebrity content, to produce the official 71 st Emmy Awards online post-show, IMDb LIVE After the Emmys Presented by CBS All Access. At 11 p.m. ET/8 p.m. PT, as the Emmy Awards telecast ends, IMDb will report live from inside the Media Center.

The one-hour live show, hosted by IMDb Special Correspondent Dave Karger, is slated to feature interviews with winners and presenters, expert analysis, social media fan Q&As with correspondent Danielle Robay, and red carpet-arrival replays.
