September 22, 2018

The Wells Fargo bank branch on West State Boulevard was robbed again Friday, four days after it was robbed on Monday.

Both times, the robbers left on foot.

Monday, the branch at 901 W. State Blvd. at Sherman Boulevard was robbed at 9:35 a.m. when a man entered the bank, passed a note to a teller demanding cash and indicated he was armed, although he never displayed a weapon.

Friday, around 11:40 a.m., a man entered the bank, again passing a handwritten note to a bank teller and demanding cash. He was given an undisclosed amount of cash and left on foot, police said.

The first robber was described as in his early 20s, white, about 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-8, wearing a hooded sweatshirt with bold black Nike lettering on the front with black sleeves, a black ball cap, blue denim jeans and black high-top athletic shoes.

Friday’s robber is described as in his 20s, black, about 5-foot-10 to 6 feet tall and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with gray trim and an unkempt Afro hair style.

Anyone who can help identify the robbers is asked to contact police at 427-1201 or Crime Stoppers at 436-7867.
