Haverhill woman charged with killing boyfriend
HAVERHILL, Mass. (AP) — A Haverhill woman has been charged with fatally stabbing her live-in boyfriend just hours after she was released from a hospital where police had taken her because she had been drinking and taking drugs.
Susan Lovejoy was ordered held without bail at her arraignment Tuesday after her lawyer entered a not guilty plea on her behalf.
The Eagle-Tribune (http://bit.ly/12dsuXY ) reports she’s charged with murder in connection with the death Monday of Kevin Paul.
Police say the 64-year-old Lovejoy had been taken to the hospital Monday after police responded to their apartment for reports of a disturbance. She left at about 9:30 p.m. and the 51-year-old Paul was found stabbed about two hours later.
Lovejoy told police that Paul had killed himself. Her lawyer asked for public funds for a private investigator
